AUTUMN IN SICILY

The tourist season is coming to an end, and with it, the frenzy of crowded beaches, lively evenings, and streets filled with visitors begins to fade.
By now, almost everyone has returned to their homes, where autumn has greeted them. But here, in this corner of Sicily, further south than Tunis, the weather seems to ignore the change of season.
The sun still shines high, warming the land and sea as if it were midsummer.
Today, for example, the thermometer read 29°C. The air was soft, enveloping, and the sky was so clear and blue it seemed infinite.
Every year, the island grants us this extension of summer, yet, perhaps because we come from the north, it never fails to surprise us.
Each time, it feels like an unexpected gift, one we enjoy with wonder and gratitude.

La stagione turistica volge al termine e con essa, si attenua la frenesia delle spiagge affollate, delle serate animate e delle strade invase dai visitatori.Â
Ormai, quasi tutti sono rientrati alle loro case, dove hanno trovato l’autunno. Ma qui, in questo angolo di Sicilia, più a sud di Tunisi, il clima sembra ignorare il cambio di stagione.Â
Il sole splende ancora alto, riscaldando terra e mare come fosse piena estate.Â
Oggi, ad esempio, la colonnina di mercurio segnava 29°. L’aria era morbida, avvolgente, e il cielo di un azzurro così limpido da sembrare infinito.Â
Succede ogni anno che l’isola ci conceda questo prolungamento dell’estate, eppure, forse perché noi veniamo dal nord, ogni volta ci sorprende.Â
Ogni volta è un dono inatteso, di cui godiamo con stupore e gratitudi
