Because the faces of the Teste di Moro tell the story of an entire island and its thousand-year history.
An island where colour is part of the landscape, the architecture and everyday life. It is found in the majolica tiles, on the façades of palaces, in the markets and gardens, in the fruit and ceramics, and in the countless shades that sunlight brings out in the stone.
But in Sicily, colour is never merely decorative. It is born from the light, the landscape and the cultures that have passed through the island over the centuries. Greeks, Byzantines, Arabs, Normans and Spaniards all left behind traces, forms, patterns and influences that time has woven together into a language that is unmistakably Sicilian.
It is a language of colour built on contrasts, just like Sicily itself.
The Teste di Moro gather this entire world and transform it into decoration.

Un’isola in cui il colore è parte del paesaggio, dell’architettura e della vita quotidiana. È nelle maioliche, nelle facciate dei palazzi, nei mercati, nei giardini, nella frutta, nelle ceramiche e nelle infinite sfumature che il sole restituisce alla pietra.
Ma in Sicilia il colore non è mai soltanto ornamento. Nasce dalla luce, dalla natura e dalle culture che per secoli hanno attraversato l’isola.
